Installation instructions
Your browser does not currently support SVG, or is not a supported browser. Please follow these instructions to install a supported SVG plugin or SVG-capable browser.
We currently support Firefox version 1.5 and the Adobe SVG plugin (both version 3 and version 6) in a variety of other browsers. These include:
- Internet Explorer 5.0 and greater
- Netscape 6 and 7. (Note: Adobe does not officially support these platforms with Adobe SVG 3.0).
- The Opera browser under Windows works, however the plug in requires manual installation and Java must be turned off. More Information.
Other browsers may work but have not been tested. Users should
see their vendor support for instructions on enabling SVG to work
with their browser.
To install the Adobe SVG plugin
- Go to http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/
- Scroll down the page to view the list of available plugin versions. Choose the version appropriate for
your operating system and language needs. For most people running Windows-based computers, this will be
the English language version for Windows 98-XP. This will install on all versions of Windows later than and
including Windows 98.
- Click the link in the operating system column to download the plugin to your computer. When prompted
to save the file, take note of where you are saving the file so that you can find and run the installer once the download is complete.
- Once the download is complete, double-click the installer file to begin the installation.
- When the install is complete, restart your web browser to complete the installation of SVG.
To use Firefox version 1.5
- Follow the instructions to install the Adobe plug in.
- Disable native SVG support, as described Disabling native SVG support.
- When the install is complete, restart your web browser to complete the installation of SVG.
